Frequently Asked Questions
What is a parlay bet?+
A parlay combines two or more individual bets into one. All legs must win for the parlay to pay out. The odds multiply together, creating higher potential payouts but lower probability of winning.
How are parlay odds calculated?+
Convert each leg to decimal odds, then multiply them together. Example: −110 (1.909) × +150 (2.50) = 4.773 decimal = +377 American. A $100 bet would pay $477.30.
Are parlays a good bet?+
Parlays amplify the sportsbook's edge. Each leg you add multiplies the vig. A 2-leg parlay at −110 each has ~4.5% hold, while the straight bets only have ~4.5% total. Parlays are fun but mathematically worse than straight bets. The exception: correlated parlays where the legs are related.
What happens if one leg pushes?+
Most sportsbooks remove the pushed leg and recalculate the parlay with the remaining legs. A 4-leg parlay with one push becomes a 3-leg parlay.
