Frequently Asked Questions
What are the different odds formats?+
There are three main formats. American odds use +/− notation (e.g. +150 or −200). Decimal odds show total return per $1 wagered (e.g. 2.50). Fractional odds show profit relative to stake (e.g. 3/2). All three represent the same underlying probability — just displayed differently.
How do I convert American odds to decimal?+
For positive odds: divide by 100 and add 1. Example: +150 → (150/100) + 1 = 2.50. For negative odds: divide 100 by the absolute value and add 1. Example: −200 → (100/200) + 1 = 1.50.
Which odds format is best?+
Decimal odds are easiest for quick math — just multiply by your stake to get total payout. American odds are standard in the US. Fractional odds are traditional in the UK. Use whichever your sportsbook displays, and use this converter when comparing lines across books.
